Translation rates are determined by a variety of factors such as:
– the source and the target language (the language you need to translate from and the language you need to translate into),
– the field
– the complexity of the text
– the delivery deadline

When asking for translation rates make sure you outline all your translation needs. For example, specify if you need the final text to be formatted, if you need SEO optimized translation, keyword research, proofreading, localization or other services.

When translating a scientific or technical text it is normally better to use a word-for-word translation, but make sure to ask your translation agency to localize the content if you are translating marketing material, advertisement, literary translation or similar kinds of text.

In this cases we speak about localization rather than simple translation because the text needs to be re-written in the target language (the language we translate into) in order to make it sound as if it was written in that language rather than translated.

Make sure to explain to your language service providers the purpose of your translation so that we can tailor the style of our translation.

If you have any document that can help us provide you a better translation, please attach it to the document that needs to be translated. They could be: terminology lists, guides, previous translations, existing material in the target languages, general guidelines and similar.

European Languages Translation Rates

European languages translation rates will normally be between € 0.12 and € 0.20.

European languages include: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Greek, Rumanian, Dutch, Danish, Polish, Swedish, Finnish, Hungarian and others.

For example, a translation from Spanish to English of a generic text will be €0.12, but if it is a legal translation or engineering translation the translation rate will increase to €0.15. The translation rate will also increase if we need to work on tight deadlines such as during bank holidays or weekends.

Asian and Middle Eastern Languages Translation Rates

Asian languages translation rates such as Japanese, Chinese, Indi, Arabic or Farsi will normally be between € 0.15 and € 0.25.

Again, the actual translation rate will be determined by the complexity of the text itself, the volume, the deadline among other factors.
