If you want to network with fellow translators and learn more about the translation industry, it might be a good idea to attend one of these events happening throughout Europe in the last few months of 2016.

3rd-4th September – Stockholm, Sweden

Proz.com international conference: A noble profession: The human face of translation

A conference regarding the “human” side of the noble profession of translation and how to best incorporate and adapt technologies to individual goals and practices.

2. Friday 9 and Saturday 10 September 2016 – Trento, Italy

School of Advanced Technologies for Translators

The school will teach on the first day the basics of state-of-the-art machine translation technology,  as well as the relevant aspects related to its application to post-editing, from the educational, professional and industrial perspectives.

On the second day, participants will be able to attend a certification course of the MateCat tool.

 

3. 15th – 17th September – Aarhus, Denmark

EST Congres 2016 – Translation Studies: Moving Boundaries

The 8th annual European Society for Translation Studies conference will focus on the moving boundaries of translation (studies) as regards disciplinary, methodological, conceptual, professional and geographical aspects.

This event is in conjunction with the 9th International Congress on Translation, with the theme “Translators and Machine Translation”.

 

6. 17th-18th October – London, United Kingdom

ICIT 2016 : 18th International Conference on Interpreting and Translation

This event aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Interpreting and Translation.

 

7. 27th – 28th October – Brussels, Belgium

Translating Europe Forum

This year the #TranslatingEurope Forum will focus on translation tools and technologies.

 

8. 2nd – 4th November – Berlin, Germany
